The Coalfield Jamboree Theater in downtown Logan will host a musical retelling of the Biblical Book of Matthew this weekend.
Southern Coalition for the ARTS is set to bring the story of Jesus Christ to the Coalfield Jamboree Stage March 25 and 26.
The musical “Godspell” is a modern retelling of the Book of Matthew which features a small group of followers who help Jesus relate parables.
The story of the life of Jesus is related to the audience through song, dance and comedic timing.
Rachel Noe-Maynard, with the ARTS, explained she hopes everyone in the community will come, “…to the Coalfield Jamboree Theatre to see a play based on book of Matthew — a comedic, heart-warming musical retelling of the parables and life of Jesus.”
The show’s first performance at the Coalfield Jamboree in downtown Logan will be at 7 p.m. Saturday March 25, and the second performance will start at 3 p.m. March 26.
Tickets will cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.
